31 residents arrested at a party in the village of Burera

In Burera district in Gahunga Sector, Gisizi cell, Nyagasozi, the village headman, Habyarimana Emmanuel, was arrested for using a wedding venue, where more than 70 people gathered at his home.

When authorities arrived at his home, 31 people were arrested, including 28 women and 3 men.

Residents who attended the event said they were aware of the outbreak of the coronavirus and did not take it to their homes, and that it was part of their culture.

Habyarimana Emmanuel, who later became a security guard, is still wanted.

His wife Mukankubana and his daughter Uwiringiyimana were attending the party, apologizing even though they still felt it was a good idea to do the party.
